Tony Boakes & Jackie Traynor – Both joined the club with excellent experience and records within North East football. Since joining the club the improvements on and off the field have been marked. In their first full season with the club they will be looking to progress.
Rachel Davison – With experience within the Northern League and vast experience outside of football Rachel joins us this season as a welcome addition to the club.
Mark Fish – Fishy was given the number one jersey after joining midway through last season, he has steadily improved throughout the season benefitting from more confidence within the team. He lists his favourite club as Celtic. Previous clubs:- Birtley Town, Seaham Red Star, Washington, RACA, Prudhoe
Craig Hannant – Craig is new to the squad, having impressed in friendlies with athletic saves and good footwork. He will be looking to push for the number one spot.
Adam Johnson – Adam joins us directly from youth football and will be looking to gain experience this year. Previous clubs:- South Moors U18’s
Kieran Day – Joins us for his second season after impressing last season with good footwork and an ariel presence. Previous Clubs:- Bishop Auckland/Durham City
Daniel Robinson – Joins us for his second season. Dan is equally comfortable at Left back or Central defence, he is also a great person to have in and around the squad. Unfortunately picked up a nasty injury in a pre-season game at Rutherford.
Joe Wilkinson – first joined the club last season, with the unfortunate moniker of ‘Young Defender” quickly established himself as a key member of the first team, most notably his performances against Gateshead bound Langstaff and league top scorer Hutchinson last season
Alex Hird – Hirdy joined us in August 2016, as a forward, since then he has played all across the pitch. This pre-season he has been favoured in either full back role, his pace proving an asset at the back. He lists his favourite player as Ben Arfa and proudly states he once played a game in every position on the pitch! Great guy to have around the squad, and number 2 in command of the players pool…… and fines. Former Clubs:- Brandon Utd, Durham City
Isam Mohamad – Versatile player who can not play as a right back but also on both wings, a Toon fan who lists his favourite player as Cristiano Ronaldo. Former Clubs:- Darlington RA
Joe Gill – A superb footballing defender that can slot in anywhere across the back four, Joe will bring a more possession based brand of football, gives 100% every game. Former Clubs:- Tow Law
Mykel Summerson – Joined us in pre-season, showed superb strength and leadership in preseason and not afraid of a tackle. Great in the dressing room. A striker all the way through youth football, he has looked comfortable at centre half, his footballing idol is Thierry Henry. Previous Club:- Coxhoe Athletic, Spennymoor reserves, Spennymoor Youth.
Liam Dixon – Big, strong player. Capable of playing anywhere down the middle. Previous Clubs:- Prudhoe Town, Tow Law
Bailey Hunter – An attack minded left back, Bailey possesses a superb crossing ability and likes to keep the opposition on the back foot. Previous Clubs:- Willington, Consett
Sean Johnson – A strong left back, who is also known as Jason “Absolutely” Puncheon amongst the lads, the reasons for that lie with his other half he insists on me saying here…… he lists his favourite player as Alexis Sanchez and he is an Arsenal fan.
Jordan Gibson – brought to the club from local football, Jordan played well in the preseason and deserves his chance going forward.
Max Stoker – Club captain, popular man in the club and a leader who his starting his 3rd season at the club. Max has the ability to ooze class and cruise around the field. Always putting pressure on the opposition, his own players and officials to benefit his team. Max lists his favourite players as Paul Scholes or Cristiano Ronaldo. Previous Clubs:- Durham City, Seaham Red Star, Horden
Callum Boakes – After an impressive junior career, featuring two England Schoolboy caps and 7 years in academy football, Callum joined Esh Winning a week after the new management took over. Excellent with the ball at his feet, Callum also has a deadly set piece in him.
Scott Arnott – A tough tackling midfielder, has played for the management team at other sides before joining Esh last year. A leader on the pitch and adds bite in the midfield. Previous clubs:- Birtley, Crook, Prudhoe
Chris Mordue – joined us last year and quickly cemented his first team credentials with excellent right wing displays. His favourite player is Joey Barton, and is a former Junior Commonwealth Swimmer. Previous Clubs:- Brandon, Colorado, Birtley, Tow Law, Consett
Ethan Stephenson – Joined us last season after missing 18months of football through injury, he is now looking forward to getting back to his best form. Previous Club:- R.A.C.A.
Gavin Brown – A hard tackling midfielder, former captain under the management team at Crook, Esh’s number one target over summer. Lists his favourite player as Cristiano Ronaldo. Previous Clubs:- Willington, Crook Town
Matty Allison – Shows tremendous energy and covers every blade of grass for the full 90minutes. Closes down opponents well and is a versatile and strong player.
Luke Allison – The energy runs in the family, as with Matty, Luke can cover every blade of grass throughout the game. He has sown exceptional footwork in preseason matches and belies his size with the strength he shows.
Reece Brown – An attack minded midfielder Reece adds pace and creativity to the midfield. He is another who lists Cristiano Ronaldo as his favourite player and is a Man United fan. Previous Clubs:- Spennymoor, Willington & Crook
Dan Mann – Playing all across the top half of the field Dan lists Eden Hazard as his favourite player and is a Sunderland fan. Dan rejoins the club after spells at Ryhope and Crook.
Tom Bailey – A winger or attacking midfielder, Tom is a fast and dynamic player. He lists his favourite player as Alexis Sanchez and supports Arsenal.
Jordan Grieves – A strong and quick player with an eye for goal, Jordan joins us after being with Consett for the pre-season
Nick Marley – Made a good impact when arriving last season, leads the line well and is a triple threat with both feet and his head. Previous Club: Crook Town
Dagan Taylor – A young striker who has shown considerable promise in preseason, pacey player who likes the ball in behind the defence and a goal poacher. He lists Alan Shearer as his footballing idol. Previous Clubs:- Newton Aycliffe U18’s, Shildon U23’s
Daniel Kent – Kenty shows superb strength up top, he has shown an incredible eye for goal this preseason and will be looking to carry that through into the season. Previous Clubs:-Willington, West Auckland.
Jonathan Swift – Coming out of local football Swifty is looking to make an impression this year up. Can play most positions on the pitch but has certainly been a danger to the opposition in preseason, looks a very promising find.
