A new ground awaits The Stags as we take on Blyth Town at South Beach in the rearranged fixture.
A good battling performance against Brandon, coupled with a late equaliser conceded by Ryton and Crawcrook on Saturday sees Esh 3 points above bottom, with just two games to go, albeit having played one more game than Ryton.
The reverse fixture saw Blyth go 3-0 up at half time, an inspired Andrew Clarkson came on at half time (missing the first half with work commitments), to score 2 goals; and hit the post 3 times, to see the game finish 3-2.
Blyth are currently sat 8th in the table, having set the pace earlier in the year they are now struggling somewhat sat in 18th place in the form guide. Esh on the other had are now sitting 20th in the league, sitting in the dizzy heights of 9th on the form guide. More impressively The Stags have lost just 2 games in 2017; being undefeated in the last five. The lads are brimming with confidence; a buzz around the club house is something that has been evident for the past few months.
The Wednesday night fixture unfortunately sees Matt Soulsby and Kai Hewitson miss out due to work commitments, Dan Robinson misses out with a broken rib and Thomas Young faces a late fitness test after being taken off injured in the last throws of the Brandon game. Captain Max Stoker returns to the squad after missing the game on Friday, his influence in the midfield will be key in the absence of Soulsby.
